Any time there is a survey done with business owners regarding the State of California, the Golden State always comes back as one of the worst friendly places to run a business. In fact, other states like Nevada realize this, and they are placing ads trying to get manufacturers, and business owners to come put their business is in Nevada.
One of the ads that the economic development Association for the State of Nevada is running goes something like this; “California will be more business friendly; yeah, when pigs fly!”
This has outraged many of the California legislators, and many of the mayors and the larger cities. Especially when the State of Nevada gives incentives to companies to relocate there, thus, stealing the jobs from California. Of course, Nevada doesn’t see it that way, and their response is simple;
“If California wants us to stop stealing all the jobs, then maybe they would do something about it and change the anti-business legislation in that state, which they’ve had several decades, but nothing has changed. So we ran an ad; ‘When Pigs Fly’ and it’s been extremely successful.”
From personal experience, I can tell you that we moved our corporation out of the State of California, along with our manufacturing facility, our training, and our sales. Why you ask, because in my professional opinion California doesn’t have a clue as to what businesses need, and in my opinion they operate the state like a socialist nation state run by anti-business bureaucracy.
We didn’t want any part of it then, and we don’t now.
You can ask any businessperson in the State of California, or sit down at a coffee shop and talk to a small business owner and they’ll tell you the same thing. It hardly matters what City or County you’re in, this is a common consensus amongst all businesses. Please consider all this.
