What you’ll be creating
Begin work creating the landscape and adapt it to the picture. Then, create a mountainside and organize sailing ships. The next step is to add models and entourage (stone and crows). Paying little attention to heaven. In the end, add adjustment layers and special effects.
You’ll need any version of Photoshop, inspiration, good mood, turn on your favorite music and take a cup of tea 🙂

Step 1
Before you start, download all the material in one place. So it will be easier to work with them. Open Photoshop and start by creating! Create a new document. Go to File > New or the short key Cmd /Ctrl+ N. A blank document with a size of 3000 pixels wide and 2000 pixels high. I named the document “Scandinavians”.
Step 2
Now I have added a picture of the landscape. Go to File > Place and select the image of the landscape.
This picture is the foundation and it makes sense to frame for the proper construction of the composition. So it will be easier to work on photo manipulation. At the end of the work, we will remove it.
Step 3
After addition of the landscape, then stretch, as shown in Figure. When you put the picture it automatically in the transformation. But if not, transform the landscape, press the short key Cmd /Ctrl+ T or go to Edit > Transform > Scale. Pull the black cubes in the corners formed frame.
Resize the picture so that it will cover the whole workspace and go beyond the edges of the document. Do not worry about losing quality. The picture has the function of the skeleton and the quality is not particularly necessary.
Step 4
Now let’s start creating our main landscape. Create a new group clicking on the icon of the group in the Layers palette and name it “land”.
Step 5
Let’s start creating photo manipulation with water. Put in work photo landscape with fog. Go to File > Place and select the image of the landscape with fog.
Step 6
Now transform the landscape as shown and place it on the right side of the document.

Step 9
Now select the layer mask by clicking on it. Using the brush, remove the excess from the picture as shown in Figure.
Step 10
I wanted to make a contrasting mountain, so I added it to an adjustment layer. To add a adjustment layer go to Layer > New Adjustment Layer > Curves or clicking on the icon in the Layers panel.
Step 11
In the window that appears, locate the curve, as shown in the figure. Move point slightly to the right s make more contrast picture.
Be sure to click on the icon of a square with an arrow to apply the adjustment layer to the layer with water, and not to the entire document.
Step 12
Now we add our picture mountains. For do this go to File > Place and select the image of mountains.
Step 13
Transform the image inserted as shown in the figure. Try to follow perspective picture with fog, so it will be easier. For a more beautiful location of the mountains, I tipped them at an angle 5.64. Note that the layer with the mountains must be above all the layers.
Step 14
Add a layer mask to picture with the mountains by clicking on the icon mask in the Layers panel (See Step 7). Select the Brush Tool (B) on the toolbar. Set it to the following settings: Size: 100px. Hardness: 0% Opacity: 100% flow: 100%. Be sure to set the background color (the color that you will work) to black by pressing D on keyboard.
Step 15
Select the layer mask by clicking on it. Using the brush, remove the excess from the picture as shown in Figure. Use a soft brush where there is a docking mountains with fog (decrease value Opacity: 30 -50 %) and a hard brush on the edges of the mountains (Hardness: 100%).
Step 16
Now for the darker atmosphere add to the mountains of the adjustment layer Curves. In the window that appears, locate the curve, as shown in the figure. Move point slightly to the right s make more contrast picture.
Step 17

Step 20
Now move the layer under the layer with the sky with a hazy landscape. So keep watch much easier to remove excess will hinder the sky in a landscape.

Step 42
The remaining three layers close gaps and give a smoother appearance rock. Duplicate three more times with the first layer of rock. Move them as shown in the figure.
Step 43
The principle of operation remains the same. I think it will not be difficult.
Eliminate unnecessary parts with a layer mask. If you need to recover, some portion of the image to switch the background color to white and you’ll recover and not clean. Red shows how I placed a piece of landscape.
